
LAUREN JOSEPHS, PHD, RECEIVES THE GOLDEN CHOICES AWARD IN SUPPORT OF FLORIDA'S ELDERS
April 29, 2008 - Orlando, FL - The Central Florida Partnership on Health Disparities would like to congratulate its governing commitee member Lauren Josephs, PhD, on receiving a 2008 Golden Choices Award. The Golden Choices Awards Program allows the Florida Department of Elder Affairs to recognize the state’s outstanding volunteers for their tireless efforts in support of Florida’s elders. For the past two years Dr. Josephs has been actively involved with the Evidence-Based Disability and Disease Prevention Learning Network. She has been a part of a core team of individuals from the Florida Department of Health and the Department of Elder Affairs to disseminate the Chronic Disease Self Management Program throughout the state of Florida. The ceremony was held in Tallahassee and awards were presented by Dr. E. Douglas Beach, Secretary of the Department of Elder Affairs, and Larry Baxter, Bureau Chief of the Department of Elder Affairs. Dr. Josephs is the Program Manager, Health Disparties Research and Education at the Center for Health Futures at Florida Hospital.
