Efforts

Coordinate Community Efforts to Reduce Health Disparities

  • Collaborate with community leaders, agencies, and local/regional government to:
    • Improve health care access
    • Change harmful policies
    • Address barriers to good health
    • Engage a diverse group of organizations and individuals in finding solutions

Research Solutions to Reduce Health Disparities in the Community

Improve Access to Healthcare and Programs Addressing Health Disparities

  • Encourage minority health outreach and education
  • Improve health- and disparity-related education for both the public and health professions
  • Help launch community programs focused on prevention and treatment of common diseases among minority groups

Attract Funding to the Region to Reduce Health Disparities

  • Bring partners together to identify funding sources for minority health programs
  • Help with research and preparation of minority health grant proposals
  • Partner in key, outcomes-focused minority health projects
